Arlington, VA, July 19, 2010– Segue Technologies Inc. (Segue) has successfully released a major redesign and development of a key Air Force enterprise Manpower system. The Manpower Programming and Execution System (MPES) Unit Manpower Document (UMD) is used by over 2,100 Air Force users around the world to manage more than 850,000 Active, Guard, Reserve and Civilian positions. The newly developed UMD version 4 represents a complete replacement of the legacy system; custom developed based on Air Force requirements, business process analysis, and legacy system capabilities.

The A1M organization is the manpower office for the US Air Force, providing position management and creating the Air Force manpower budget voted on by Congress. A1M tracks Air Force troop deployments, assesses current air and ground strength, builds requests for additional manpower resources, and performs manpower reductions. Segue conducted the UMD redevelopment as part of their greater IT Support contract to A1M, which includes development of additional aspects of MPES, support for Business Intelligence reporting, Database Administration, Help Desk support, Information Assurance, and Certification and Accreditation.

In response to the release of UMD version 4, the MPES Air Force Program Manager said, “Segue provided all aspects of MPES development to include requirements analysis, design, software development, testing, data quality, information assurance, training, network engineering, and user support. This marks the beginning of a totally new look and feel of a UMD application that is dynamic enough to meet future requirements. HQ USAF/A1M and I are very pleased with Segue Technologies’ response to the Air Force needs.”

Segue Technologies, Inc.’s client the UNCF, along with the Washington Inter-Alumni Council, hosted the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday celebration held on January 18th, 2010 at Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt, Maryland. For the past 27 years, this annual event has celebrated not only Dr. King’s legacy, but also those who continue his work toward achieving racial equality.

Segue was proud to be a sponsor of this year’s celebration and was represented by the attendance of several employees and Executive Team members. Local DC Channel 7 News anchor Leon Harris served as the Master of Ceremonies and Dr. Howard-John Wesley of the Alfred Street Baptist Church in Alexandria provided the keynote address to the capacity filled event center. Wesley’s engaging and energetic speaking style captured the audience’s attention from the first word uttered right through his closing remarks. He discussed the recent progress shown by the astounding achievement of electing the first African-American president, but then continued to touch upon how much work remains and warned those in attendance against complacency, that we should continue to better ourselves and those around us. Dr. Wesley’s words rang true not only in carrying on Dr. King’s legacy, but also with direct correlation to the mission of the UNCF which Segue is proud to support.
