Arlington Pets App
About the Client
Since 1944, the Animal Welfare League of Arlington has been committed to the humane treatment of animals and to the promotion of animal welfare. The AWLA provides temporary care and refuge for homeless and suffering animals, places animals in loving and responsible homes, provides animal control services to Arlington County, educates the public, and provides a wide variety of community services.
The Challenge
The AWLA was looking for a way to connect Arlington's technology savvy residents with animals in need. By taking advantage of the growing use of mobile devices, they sought an application that could provide potential adopters with quick and easy access to up-to-the-minute information about homeless animals at the AWLA.
The Solution
Segue took on this project at no cost to the AWLA. Working with AWLA staff, we designed an intuitive and easy to use application which provides a current list of cats, dogs, and other companion animals that are available for adoption. The core functionality of the app follows these steps:
- Touch DOGS to get a list of all available dogs
- When you see one you like, touch it to review a detailed description including personality characteristics and exercise needs
- When you've fallen in love, touch CALL or E-MAIL to contact the AWLA immediately to inquire about adoption!
The application has been developed for the iOS and Android platforms and is available for free download from:
Apple iTunes App Store for iPhone and iPad devices
Google Play Store for Android
Amazon App Store for Android
