About the Client

The intelligent Business Process Management Suite (iBPMS) platform is part of the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Enterprise Business System (EBS) which is a system of systems with the mission to improve the integrity, efficiency, and management of critical business information for AFRL's Science & Technology (S&T) mission.

The Challenge

In 2018, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) selected the Pega Platform as its Intelligent Business Process Management Suite (iBPMS) to enhance warfighter support through innovative low-code/no-code (LCNC) technology that could scale and accommodate the custom needs of its disparate AFRL technical directorates (TDs). The program’s success depended on the thorough adoption of the Pega platform and process across the enterprise. Segue personnel were tasked to configure and maintain iBPMS as a shared platform supporting federated development across AFRL. The team was challenged to implement configuration management and testing procedures compatible with the iBPMS platform in line with Agile principles.

The Solution

Segue was first to implement Pega within AFRL. A unique combination of exceptional technical skill and AFRL corporate knowledge allowed the Segue team to provide rapid, comprehensive, and stable development of high-value features. The team utilized Agile software processes compatible with the iBPMS platform to create and sustain applications. Our 10+ Agile development teams collaborated using modern low-code technologies to deliver 200+ releases annually. Our experience managing large Air Force programs and understanding the client’s environment and needs made us a key player on the AFRL iBPMS team.
