Bob has been working at Segue since May 2019 as a Test Engineer supporting one of our Air Force contracts. He is one of our many team members working remotely, he is located in Colorado Springs, CO. He has a degree in Computer Information Systems and another in Music Education, also he is a Certified Scrum Master. Some of his programming/scripting language skills are SQL, C#, Cobol, SQL, and jQuery. Learn more about what Bob enjoys about Segue below.
What Do You Like About Segue?
I appreciate Segue’s friendly work environment. Management listens and is open to new ideas that can improve efficiency and our ability to win future contracts. Everyone performs their duties at a high level but also maintains a ‘team first’ and ‘people first’ oriented environment, even in a remote work arena.
What is Your Greatest Achievement at Segue?
My highest achievement at Segue has been becoming a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) while at Segue. This enabled me to benefit the rest of the Test Team by creating Scrum Boards and many queries in Jira that were used daily. This increased the testing visibility into identifying blockers and increasing efficiency. Visualizing where everyone was with their tasks and identifying where additional resources were needed benefitted the entire team. Covering each person on the team individually gives them the opportunity to state any blockers so these can be resolved quickly. This increased quality and led to several successful software releases, including the most recent Government Acceptance Test (GAT) presentations where 100% acceptance was attained.

What is Segue for You?
Segue has been a great opportunity for me to learn new skills via its educational reimbursement program. This has given me new skills that I was able to immediately incorporate into my daily workflow, specifically related to Jira, Redmine, and SSMS.
What Is Your Opinion About Our Culture, Environment, and Work-Life Balance?
The work environment at Segue is team-spirited and friendly, with frequent online activities and raffles. Work-life balance is a priority at Segue. Team members are always there to help when needed.
