Overview
The Air Education and Training Command (AETC) is responsible for training aircrew personnel across a wide range of aircraft and operational roles. Its Graduate Training Integration Management System (G/TIMS) supports the management of fighter, tanker, transport, rotary, and other aircrew training programs for AETC, Air Mobility Command (AMC), Air Combat Command (ACC), Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), and the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE). Segue Technologies® provided system sustainment for the G/TIMS software and architecture, ensuring continued performance and reliability of this mission-critical training platform.
Challenge
Segue Technologies® was challenged to provide sustainment of the G/TIMS software and architecture to maintain operational suitability from a system perspective. Our team was tasked to manage Implementation/Deployment of G/TIMS instances to new sites and aid in the support of airborne platform migrations at existing sites.
Additionally, the Segue team provided Information Assurance Support; G/TIMS AFNET Infrastructure Support; maintained G/TIMS Interface(s), provided System Engineering and Analysis Support; delivered G/TIMS Product (Training/Syllabus) Management Support; maintained the G/TIMS DevNet and Production Cloud environments, and provided 24x7 help desk support.
Solution
Segue provided AETC with a full scope team of software engineers, flying training experts, and local site agents for each G/TIMS location to support the individual user community needs. A primary major tasking for this support effort was to migrate two legacy systems TIMS and GTIMS into a consolidated G/TIMS system baseline. The two systems had duplicative functionality and exorbitant cost being maintained in parallel. Segue’s engineering team efficiently handled this task, identifying multiple system improvements within the aging code base in the process. The combined baseline, with improved performance, was subsequently implemented at numerous new customer sites, with our implementation team establishing a repeatable process to identify the unique unit requirements and configure G/TIMS to meet their needs, while tailoring training to those needs as well.
