Segue’s David Hart Earns Major Industry Accolades

It’s been a big year for Segue’s Vice President of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, David Hart. David has been named both AFCEA International and Alamo AFCEA’s “Small Business Person of the Year”, and he made the Dayton Business Journal’s List of “Who’s Who in Aerospace and Defense in Dayton” for the fourth year in a row.

“It’s a great honor to be selected for these professional acknowledgements” said David Hart. “It’s reflection of the great team I work with at Segue and in my DoD volunteer activities with the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association and the awesome team of volunteers with the Team Fastrax Warrior Weekend to Remember.”

About David Hart

Hart primarily works in the DoD space with a focus on Air Force work and is known for his advocacy in the Dayton region. In addition to his role at Segue Technologies, he is a former US Army Ranger, Master Parachutist, Pathfinder, and the founder of Blue Skies for Good Guys and Gals Warrior Foundation. This foundation hosts more than 50 combat-injured warriors and fallen hero families for a Weekend to Remember. Hart has also served twice as president of Dayton-Wright Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association, and will be leading the 2017 Air Force Logistics IT Summit.

AFCEA International’s Small Business Person of the Year

AFCEA provides a forum for military, government, and industry communities to collaborate so that technology and strategy align with the needs of those who serve. They are a member-based, non-profit international organization that has helped members advance information technology, communications and electronics capabilities since 1946. The association has 31,487 individual members, 151 chapters and 1,586 corporate members.

In order to win the annual Small Business Person of the Year award an individual must:

  • Be an AFCEA corporate or individual member
  • Work for a small business of 250 people or less
  • Earn a nomination for their peers
  • Demonstrate commitment to AFCEA’s activities, values, and mission
  • Exemplify a leadership role both professionally and within the community
  • Demonstrate that they have had a positive and tangible economic, social, or strategic impact in a community or region
  •  Demonstrate small business advocacy/results at the community, regional or national level

AFCEA Alamo’s Small Business Person of the Year

As founder of the DoD Business Development Group Fast Rope, David was instrumental in standing up a San Antonio, TX Chapter of Fast Rope. David also regularly supports AFCEA Alamo Chapter events, and pulled the chapter into support his Team Fastrax Warrior Weekend to Remember via the Chapter Wounded Warrior Foundation.

Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, located in Dayton is Ohio’s largest single site employer, with more than 27,500 workers and supporting more than 60,000 jobs locally. Those in their top 100, compiled by the Dayton Business Journal, are a list of “Who’s Who”- those who are making things happen in this sector of the economy.
